I released this song first because of the subject matter on the rest of the ep

its a light in the darkness
no matter how south things go love will always the answer, whether that's loving yourself, your dog, your art, your kids, your partner, family, etc.

this song was actually written in 2012 (you don't release your finest material first) its had many variations throughout the years

it was my first non metal song (I used to write a lot of metal music back then)

anyways, this whole ep is about drug abuse
hourglass is about overcoming the addiction and getting back to what you lost
